We are a non-profit organization in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, founded in 2017 by Nancy Martínez and a group of volunteer friends, committed to developing activities focused on improving the living conditions of citizens living in poverty, with the main objective of strengthening their personal development and social participation.
Our social work focuses, among other aspects, on helping disadvantaged people in matters of education, health, clothing and food, contributing to increasing their quality of life.
Tocando Corazones By Nancy was incorporated through Resolution No. 0062/2017 dated June 26, 2017, in accordance with the Law No. 122-05 of Non-Profit Associations.
Nancy Martínez is proud mother of two, dominican and resident of Rockaway, Queens, United States of America, a small business owner, and a community leader who has helped thousand of pleople learn new skills and start a career. She is a sigle mother and the daughter of a decorated marine who instilled in her a Deep sense of honor and service.
Those values were only further instilled when a tragic accident that left Nancy´s brother paralyzed. The experience of taking care of her brother awoke a passion to help others, especially children. Since then, Nancy has turned work into her very life, to help others seek a better life.
But Nancy´s compassion and commitment extends well beyond her work. Is for this reason that inn 2017 Nancy stablished the international foundation “Tocando Corazones by Nancy” (Touching Hearts) that helps to bring education and health care to those living in poverty worldwide.
Because of her work helping community members obtain health care, Nancy was elected to the Board of Directors of the Joseph P. Addabbo Health Clinics, an entity dedicated to guaranteeing access to quality and affordable health care for citizens.
In the past years, Nancy has been recognized for her outstanding contributions to the community and has been a recipient of the following awards and honors:
Mision: Promote comprehensive, quality educational support, serve as a platform to help people in precarious living conditions, contribute to people who suffer from illnesses and cannot afford their treatments and medications.
Vision: To be recognized a reference point of support of education, to contribute to social and economic development and progress, with the aim of building equitable and supportive societies, as well as contributing to increasing the resilience of the population.
